Lighting Design for “You Deserve It” in Beirut and Istanbul

In the summer of 2011, I developed the Lighting Design for the social quiz show “You Deserve It”. The format was produced first for the Arab market at MBC studios in Beirut and subsequently for Turkey at ATV studios in Istanbul.

In the show, a contestant plays on behalf of someone experiencing social hardship rather than for themselves. The eventual recipient is initially unaware of their involvement. Pre-recorded films introduce their personal situation to the audience. At the end of the show, the prize is presented during a live connection.

Commissioned by Jerry Appelt Lighting Design, I was responsible for the complete Lighting Design and supervised the initial implementation of the production at both studio locations.
