Lighting design for “United Respect”

United Respect, rave event, Cologne Lanxess Arena.

COLD handled the lighting design for Crossworks Projects, provided the operators, and took care of the pre-programming.

The particular challenge with this event was that a TV production had been carried out in the same venue the night before, using much of the same equipment. The goal was therefore to create a unique look for the event without having to rebuild the entire lighting system from scratch. In coordination with the preceding event, parts of the lighting system were designed to be compatible with both events to ensure that the setup changes could be completed overnight. However, since the setup work could not be completed until shortly before doors opened, the entire show had to be pre-programmed in 3D.
