Lighting design for the “Art on Ice” tour

This year, COLD provided the lighting design to the Art on Ice tour for the 15th consecutive time. The stage design consisted of large stretches of string that, when grouped together, formed several trapezoidal shapes, which collectively created an asymmetrical stage set. In addition to lighting these structures, the challenge was to develop a lighting design that could also be integrated asymmetrically into the stage set. Furthermore, the entire show was virtually pre-produced within two weeks. This year’s Art on Ice was once again recorded for Swiss television, and the show had to be adapted accordingly. Other stops on the tour included Lausanne and Davos.
