Lighting Design
Lighting Design for Samsung at CeBIT from 2003 to 2008
From 2003 to 2008, I was responsible for the complete Lighting Design of all four Samsung exhibition areas at CeBIT in Hanover. The collaboration ended in 2008 when Samsung withdrew from CeBIT. Its subsequent exhibition activities focused more strongly on IFA in Berlin.
Samsung presented its product portfolio across Halls 1, 21 and 26 as well as a dealer pavilion in the outdoor area. Hall 1 primarily featured printers, monitors and office solutions. Hall 21 focused on consumer electronics, while Hall 26 presented telecommunications products. The exhibition areas were complemented by offices, press facilities, a lounge and meeting rooms.
The images shown on the website document the booth in Hall 1. All lighting in this hall had to be mounted exclusively to the existing power rails on the ceiling. The weight and energy efficiency of the fixtures were therefore essential factors in the Lighting Design.
