Lighting Design for Energy Air 2014

As a continuation of “Energy Stars for Free”, Radio Energy Switzerland launched the open air concert Energy Air in 2014. Around 40,000 spectators experienced six hours of live music with 14 national and international acts at the Stade de Suisse in Bern.

Developed by Habegger, the stage design extended across the entire end of the stadium with a width of 68 metres. A 600 square metre video wall formed its central visual element. Movable segments enabled different stage configurations and fast changeovers between the acts. A centre stage in the middle of the stadium was connected to the main stage by a 30 metre catwalk.

The different performance areas, the number of acts, the short preparation period and the duration of the recording created particular demands for the Lighting Design. For the first edition, I was responsible for the Lighting Design and worked as DoP. Together with my team, I managed 3D Preprogramming and Lighting Operating.
