Associate Lighting Design for Deutschland Champions

In the summer of 2003, Bayerischer Rundfunk produced the first season of the ARD game show “Deutschland Champions” over a period of four weeks at the outdoor grounds of Europa-Park Rust.

Teams representing different German cities competed in sporting challenges. Each episode also included two entertainment acts. The live production began at around 8:15 p.m. during the blue hour and continued into complete darkness. As a result, the natural lighting conditions changed continuously throughout the broadcast.

Commissioned by mo2 design, I worked as Associate Lighting Designer under the on-site design direction of Ollie Olma. Within the overall concept, I developed, programmed and operated the show and effects lighting. The key lighting was not part of my responsibility.
