In 2003 and 2004, Grundy Entertainment produced the casting format “Star Search” for Sat.1 at Studio Berlin Adlershof. Across several live broadcasts, adults and children competed in the categories of singing, comedy and modelling.

The production used visual systems that were advanced for their time. These included LED fixtures operated in individual pixel mode and transparent LED walls. Together, they formed an additional media layer within the show design.

Commissioned by mo2 design, I worked under the name and overall design direction of Ollie Olma. I developed the show and effects lighting as well as the Media and Content Design for both LED systems. I then programmed and operated all the elements I had designed throughout the live broadcasts. The key lighting was not part of my responsibility.

Due to its scale, the complete system was controlled through several lighting consoles.
