From 2002 to 2007, COLD served as associate lighting designer and handled lighting operations for the RTL show “Die 5 Millionen SKL Show.”

The show debuted back in the days of the German mark as “10 Millionen SKL Show.” In this quiz format, celebrities had to answer questions on behalf of the respective contestants. Legally, the show was classified as a lottery, which meant the contestants were barely allowed to actively participate in the show. A random number generator assigned the task of answering a question to one of the celebrities. The contestants had only the option to use a “joker” once to select a new celebrity. At the end of each season, the total prize money was won by the contestant for whom the celebrities had correctly answered the most questions. The lighting system—which was very large for its time—was controlled via multiple consoles, and nearly all lighting scenes were triggered automatically via a media control system.
