Lighting design for “CSI Zürich”

The main focus of the 2014 CSI was the horse show “Around the World,” featuring various equestrian acts by international show troupes. In addition to the projection already used last year on one end of the jumping arena, a video projection on the ground served as a special highlight. The combination of both media on the dark sand surface presented a lighting challenge. During rehearsals, special attention was paid to developing lighting moods that would make the projections clearly visible while also ensuring sufficient brightness for the horses—all while continuing to use light effectively as a medium. The reactions of clients, sponsors, and the 30,000 visitors to the show demonstrated that this goal was achieved.

COLD was commissioned to handle the lighting design and operating for the event from 2000 through 2014.
