Lighting design for german TV’s “Mania Shows”

As with the first season in 2004, COLD once again handled the lighting design for the second season of RTL’s “Mania Show” in 2006.

The shows were recorded at SBA Studios in Berlin and aired on RTL. Each show has its own theme (Grease, Dirty Dancing, Elvis, ABBA, etc.). Celebrity contestants perform covers of songs that they must sing live. The performances are also accompanied by dancers. The show is purely for entertainment and is not a competition format. The shows are hosted by Dirk Back and Barbara Schöneberger. The main focus of the lighting design was to create a production that matched the theme of each episode.
