Lighting & Set design for the “Art on Ice” tour

In 2014, COLD once again handled the lighting design for the Art on Ice tour. The musical acts on tour included Hurts, Khatia Buniatishvili, and Loreen. Mummenschanz provided pantomime accompaniment for the show.

In addition to the lighting design, COLD also handled the stage design using movable LED balloons. The individual scenes were designed during pre-production. To create a lighting design tailored to each scene, the trusses in the stage area were designed to be movable. This allowed the lighting to be adjusted to match the various balloon positions at all times.

This year’s show took place in Zurich (Hallenstadion), Lausanne (Mallé), Davos (Vaillant Arena), Helsinki (Hartwal Arena), and Stockholm (Globe Arena).
